The Roles of Women in Ancient Rome
In Ancient Rome there was two types of marage. The first type
of marrage is Coempito. This form of marrage is when you purches your wife, mainly the lower class or plebs did this
typpe of marrage. The second type of marrage was a religous cermony. It was preformed boy two senior priest. The priest were
the Flamen Dials and the Pontifex Maximus.
Women in ancient Rome would wear a ring on the third
finger of the left hand. This would symbolized she was engaged. On the day of the marrage the bride would be dressed
in all white. They would be accompanied by one bridesmaid.
In Rome they considered a woomen ready for marriage at the age
of fourteen. Even though she is gets marred, she has no choice in any of the arrangements. Her father makes all
of the choices.
